Sri Lanka launches Metro Bus Company pilot to modernize public transport

In a major move to overhaul public bus transportation, the Sri Lankan government has approved the establishment of a Metro Bus Company under the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB).
The new entity will manage a pilot fleet of 100 modern, low-entry (luxury coach) buses along key corridors in and around Colombo, aiming to offer commuters enhanced comfort, efficiency, and technology.
