The Peliyagoda Western Northern Crimes Division informed the Colombo Additional Magistrate H. D. Darshima today (07) that former Pradeshiya Sabha member Sampath Manamperi will be detained and questioned for 90 days under the Division’s detention orders.
Submitting a B report to the court, the investigating officers stated that the detention was necessary for ongoing investigations related to a drug network operating in the Middeniya area.
After considering the facts presented, the Magistrate informed the court that steps would be taken to examine the suspect during the detention period as required.
