The bodies of a man and a woman, both stabbed to death with sharp weapons, were discovered inside a house in the Wadigala area of Ranna early this morning (07).
Police identified the male victim as a person known by the alias “Bo Pasindu”, a 28-year-old resident of Ranna, and the woman as his mistress, a 28-year-old resident of Tissamaharama.
According to police reports, the two had been staying at a friend’s house when a group of about five masked men forcibly entered the premises and carried out the murder.
Investigations revealed that “Bo Pasindu” was a known criminal figure who had faced multiple murder charges and had previously been arrested for drug possession. He was also accused of shooting and killing a boat skipper in the Nidishagama area of Ranna on March 6 last year.
