The Badulla district is facing renewed landslide risks due to adverse weather conditions, with a previously affected site near Passara Pillar 13 reactivating. Falling rocks have blocked the road, prompting the Road Development Authority to restrict traffic to a single lane for safety.

Meanwhile, a landslide in the Helapola area of Kanawerella West, Passara, has led the Passara Divisional Secretary to evacuate three families to safer locations.

The National Building Research Organization (NBRO) has issued landslide warnings for the Hali Ela, Ella, Badulla, and Passara Divisional Secretariat Divisions. Badulla District Secretary Prabath Abeywardena has urged the public to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions amid the ongoing adverse weather conditions.
