A total of 1,787 rabies vaccinations were administered across 43 centres within the Anuradhapura Municipal Council area during animal clinics held from September 28 to October 4 in honor of World Rabies Day.
The Animal Welfare Coalition (AWC) said the programme was carried out with the participation of five veterinarians, 10 veterinary assistants, three university students, seven Municipal Council officers, and three volunteer sisters.
The initiative was organised by the Anuradhapura Municipal Council Veterinary Department with support from Justice for Animals and Vets for Future.
