In his message, the Minister said various teacher appreciation ceremonies and award events are being held islandwide to honour the dedication and service of teachers.
She noted that the theme of this year’s National Teachers’ Day is “Recognizing Teaching as a Collective Profession in a New Meaning,” and highlighted that the government is committed to listening to teachers’ voices and appreciating their role in shaping the nation’s education system.
The Minister urged all teachers to join hands in “writing a new page in the history of education,” highlighting the importance of aligning the education system with future demands in vocational, technological, and digital learning.
She said that vocational education will become a compulsory subject in the Advanced Level curriculum and stressed the need to identify suitable secondary schools, trained teachers, and adequate facilities to implement the initiative successfully.
The Minister also paid tribute to teachers and parents who, despite limited resources, continue to support children in underprivileged areas and those who show unwavering dedication beyond public recognition.
“On National Teachers’ Day 2025, I sincerely wish all principals and teachers the strength and inspiration to make a lasting impact on the hearts of students in line with the new transformational education process,” the Minister said in conclusion.
