Speaking at a ceremony held today (October 5) to present appointment letters to the Kurunegala District Divisional Organizers of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP), the former minister emphasized that Manamperi has no connection to his office. The event was held under the leadership of Namal Rajapaksa, the National Organizer of the SLPP.
“Now they say that one of my coordinating secretaries is a person named Manamperi. Remember, I have appointed coordinating secretaries only from this district,” Fernando stated, dismissing the claims as completely false.
He further expressed his readiness to take maximum legal action against those spreading false information and engaging in character defamation.
“This is an attempt to attack from somewhere. But we still have strong faith in the law. Therefore, we will act to the best of our ability under the law at all times,” he said, reaffirming his confidence in the country’s legal framework.
