The conference, organized annually by the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA), serves as a platform for discussions on key global parliamentary and political challenges. This year’s event is hosted by the Parliament of Barbados and the Barbados Branch of the CPA, and will be held from October 5 to 12, 2025.
Delegates from across the Commonwealth, including parliamentarians and parliamentary officials, are expected to participate in the sessions focusing on strengthening democracy, gender representation, governance, and sustainable development.
Sri Lanka’s delegation is led by Minister Saroja Savithri Paulraj, who also serves as the Chairperson of the Women’s Caucus in Parliament. She will be joined by MP Sugath Wasantha de Silva, legal expert Sagarika Athawuda, and several other government and opposition representatives.
The Secretary General of Parliament, Kushani Rohanadeera, is also among the participants representing Sri Lanka at the international forum.
The conference is expected to foster collaboration among member nations in addressing common legislative and policy challenges while promoting the principles of good governance and parliamentary democracy across the Commonwealth
