A married couple has died in a tragic road accident that occurred this afternoon (04) in the Kananwila area of Moragahahena on the Horana–Moragahahena Road, police said.
According to police reports, the accident took place when a lorry traveling from Moragahahena toward Horana collided with a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction.
Investigations revealed that the motorcycle, which had been traveling at high speed, lost control, skidded off the road, and crashed into the lorry coming from the other lane.
Police said the husband and wife, who sustained critical injuries, were pronounced dead upon admission to the hospital.
Further investigations into the incident are being carried out by the Moragahahena Police.
