According to the advisory, the affected areas include the North-Central, Eastern, and Uva Provinces, as well as the Vavuniya and Mullaittivu districts. The Department further cautioned that temporary localized strong winds are also likely during thundershowers.
The public has been urged to take necessary safety measures to minimize the risk of damage and harm caused by lightning strikes.
