The teacher, who handles Technology classes, was reportedly attacked by a Grade 11 student after questioning him about using a mobile phone during school hours. Investigations revealed that the student was in possession of a smartphone and a power bank at the time of the incident.
Police said the suspect is a resident of Sirigala in Monaragala. Further investigations into the assault are ongoing.
