The U.S. Embassy in Colombo announced today that passport and visa services in the United States, as well as at U.S. Embassies and Consulates worldwide, will continue despite the lapse in appropriations.
In a statement, the embassy noted that during this period, only urgent safety and security information will be shared until full operations resume.
The embassy further advised the public to refer to the U.S. State Department’s official website, travel.state.gov, for updates on consular services and operating status
