Sri Lanka’s inflation rises to 1.5% in September

The Overall Rate of Inflation, as measured by the Colombo Consumer Price Index (CCPI) on a year-on-year basis, has increased to 1.5% in September 2025, the Department of Census and Statistics announced.

This reflects a rise from the 1.2% recorded in August this year. Food inflation also climbed to 2.9% in September, up from 2.0% in August.

In contrast, non-food inflation eased to 0.7% in September 2025, compared to 0.8% reported the previous month.
