The Department of Meteorology has issued an advisory warning of warm weather conditions in the North-central and Eastern provinces, as well as Vavuniya, Mullaitivu, and Monaragala districts.
Amber alerts have been issued to eight districts, effective tomorrow (October 1).
According to the department, the Heat Index—the temperature felt on the human body—is expected to rise to the ‘Caution’ level in some areas.
Authorities have cautioned the public that prolonged exposure and physical activity under these conditions could cause fatigue, while continued exertion may lead to heat cramps.
