13th ICC Women’s World Cup kicks off today in India

The 13th edition of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup, organized by the International Cricket Council (ICC), is set to commence today (30) in India.

The tournament will feature eight of the world’s strongest teams, each playing against the other seven in the initial round. At the end of the group stage, the top four teams on the points table will advance to the semi-finals, where the first-placed team will face the fourth, while the second will take on the third.

In total, 31 matches will be played throughout the tournament, including 11 first-round games hosted in Sri Lanka.

Marking the opening of the competition, co-host Sri Lanka will meet India in the inaugural clash scheduled for 3.00 p.m. today in Guwahati.
