President holds discussions with Japanese finance minister

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, who is on an official visit to Japan at the invitation of the Japanese government, held bilateral discussions with Japanese Minister of Finance Kato Katsunobu this afternoon (29) at the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo.

The talks focused on strengthening trade, investment and economic cooperation between the two countries, with particular emphasis on on-going and upcoming projects supported through Japanese aid /JICA assistance. 

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Vijitha Herath, Chief Advisor to the President on the Digital Economy Dr. Hans Wijeyasuriya, Senior Advisor to the President on Economic Affairs Duminda Hulangamuwa, Sri Lankan Ambassador to Japan Professor Pivithuru Janak Kumarasinghe and senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also joined the discussions.
