Appointment letters for the largest number of recruits to the public service through a competitive examination since 2018 will be presented today (29) under the patronage of Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya at Temple Trees.
A total of 2,000 individuals are scheduled to officially join the third service of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service during the ceremony.
Highlighting the occasion, the government noted that this recruitment process reflects its commitment to ending the past practice of filling the public service with political supporters. As emphasized by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake in his 2025 Budget Speech, the selections have been carried out solely on the basis of qualifications and skills, free from political influence.
The 2025 Budget proposed the recruitment of 30,000 individuals to fill essential vacancies in the public sector, and today’s appointments mark another step in the ongoing implementation of that proposal.
