A 58-year-old man was shot dead in the Muthiyammana area of Tissamaharama this evening (26) around 5.00 p.m., police said.
According to police, the assailant had arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire using a 12-bore stone-pelter type firearm before fleeing the scene. The suspect has been identified as a resident of the same area.
Initial investigations have revealed that the incident stemmed from a personal dispute involving a relationship between the suspect and the wife of the victim’s son.
Tissamaharama Police have launched investigations to apprehend the suspect.
