The identities of the seven monks who lost their lives in the tragic accident at the Malsiripura Pansilugama Na Uyana Forest Monastery have now been revealed.
The deceased monks are:
Ven. Dhamma Ransi Thero (47) from Romania
Ven. Dhamma Rakkhita Thero (34) from Russia
Ven. Dhamma Gaveshi Thero (34) from India
Ven. Uttarananda Thero (27) from Nawalapitiya
Ven. Sattasumana Thero (41) from Udawalawa
Ven. Vipassi Thero (37) from Nugegoda
Ven. Samiddha Thero (47) from Malwanegama
Several other monks sustained injuries and are currently receiving treatment. They have been identified as:
Ven. Pannadipa Thero (36) from Galnewa
Ven. Lokanithi Thero (39) from Rajagiriya
Ven. Thamarasamāhita Thero (26) from Pokunuwita
Ven. Chandrasiri Thero (35) from Unapane
Ven. Indrabhasitha Thero from Pannipitiya
Ven. Saranankara Thero from Aninwatta
Authorities are conducting further investigations into the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
