President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has appointed Acting Ministers to oversee four ministries during his official visit to the United States to attend the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The appointments cover the Ministries of Finance, Economic Stabilization and Development; Defence; Digital Economy; and Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism, the President’s Media Division announced.

Accordingly, Labour Minister and Deputy Minister of Economic Development Anil Jayantha Perera has been named Acting Minister of Finance, Economic Stabilization and Development. Deputy Minister of Digital Economy Eranga Weeraratna has been assigned as Acting Minister of Digital Economy, while Deputy Minister of Defence Aruna Jayasekara will serve as Acting Minister of Defence.

Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Employment Arun Hemachandra has been appointed Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism.
