The Police yesterday (22) uncovered 705.174 kilograms of narcotics hidden in three lorries during a special raid carried out in the Seenimodara area of Tangalle.
Police stated that the registered owners of the three vehicles have been arrested from Mount Lavinia, Elpitiya, and Meetiyagoda police divisions.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Priyantha Weerasuriya confirmed that this operation marks the largest drug raid ever conducted on land in Sri Lanka.
