A 23-year-old youth from Maussakelle, Maskeliya, has died after drowning in a hotel swimming pool in the Kandawala area of Katana.
Police said the victim had been enjoying leisure time with several friends in the pool when the incident occurred.
Katana Police have launched further investigations into the incident.
