Police seize weapons from late lawyer’s home

According to the police, the discovery was made during a search of the lawyer’s house located on Goluwawila Lane, Ratnapura.

Among the items seized were a locally manufactured revolver, a pistol, a firearm with a two-foot-six-inch barrel, a weapon with a spin-attached iron barrel, 24 bullets in a small tin, 53 hakkapatas, 383 12-bore bullets, and 57 16-bore bullets, along with other related items.

Police said that the lawyer, the sole resident of the house, had died six days prior to the discovery. Investigations are ongoing to determine the origin and intended use of the weapons.
