Heavy traffic congestion was reported this morning (18) along Sir Chittampalam A. Gardiner Mawatha in Colombo, stretching from the Lake House roundabout to Slave Island.
The traffic build-up occurred as a result of a protest demonstration staged opposite the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) headquarters by its workers.
Police have advised motorists to use alternative routes to avoid delays in the area.
