Public consultation sessions on the proposed electricity tariff revision will commence today (18), the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) announced.

The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has proposed a 6.8% increase in electricity tariffs for the final quarter of 2025. In response, the PUCSL has decided to seek public opinion before making a final decision.

To gather feedback, the PUCSL will conduct nine public consultation sessions covering all nine provinces, beginning today. In addition, the public is invited to submit written comments and suggestions until October 7, 2025.
