UNP to reinstate forormer members who joined SJB

The United National Party (UNP) Working Committee has decided to reinstate the party membership of individuals who left the party to join the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) during the 2020 general elections.
The decision was taken during a meeting of the UNP Working Committee held under the chairmanship of party leader and President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
UNP Chairman Wajira Abeywardena said that a committee led by senior legal expert Tilak Marapana has been appointed to examine the legal framework required to implement the decision.
