Sampath Manamperi surrenders to Walasmulla Magistrate’s Court

Earlier, Manamperi’s counsel informed the Court of Appeal that his client intended to surrender before the Magistrate’s Court. Taking the facts into account, the Court of Appeal directed the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to ensure the safety of Manamperi following his surrender and further instructed that the investigating officers be duly informed.

The directives were issued after considering a writ petition filed by Manamperi, who was previously wanted for arrest in connection with the case.
