The construction of the Kadawatha to Mirigama section of the Central Expressway is scheduled to officially resume today (17), under the patronage of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
As part of the recommencement, work will also begin on the Kadawatha Interchange and the initial 500-meter stretch of the expressway, marking the first stage of renewed construction efforts.
According to government sources, Rs. 8.6 billion has been allocated for the project, which is expected to play a pivotal role in strengthening the national road network and reducing travel time between key regions.
The Central Expressway project, once completed, will serve as a major transportation corridor, improving connectivity and supporting economic development across the country.
