An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.0 struck the New Ireland Region of Papua New Guinea at 16:59 GMT on Tuesday, according to the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences, News.Az reports citing foreign media.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 5.49 degrees south latitude and 153.79 degrees east longitude.
