IGP leaves for China

Police said the IGP departed for China last night (15) and is scheduled to deliver a speech at the conference, which brings together law enforcement officials from several countries.

During his absence, Senior DIG Lalith Pathinayake, who oversees the Central Province and the Police Administration Division, has been appointed as the Acting IGP.

IGP Weerasuriya is expected to return to Sri Lanka on September 20, upon the completion of his official visit.
