CEB Engineers’ Union to intensify trade union action

Executive Committee Member of the Union, Dhanushka Parakramasinghe, announced that the strengthened trade union campaign will commence today (16).
He further stated that all CEB employees are scheduled to report sick leave in two groups on Wednesday (17) and Thursday (18). During this period, the union has also planned a protest movement to oppose the restructuring decision.
Despite the escalation, Parakramasinghe assured that there would be no office closures or disruptions to essential services, emphasizing that the union’s actions would not inconvenience the public.
The government’s proposed restructuring of the CEB has drawn sharp criticism from trade unions, who argue that dividing the institution into multiple entities could undermine its efficiency and stability.
