President Dissanayake to visit United States and Japan this month

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake is scheduled to depart for the United States on 22 September to participate in the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

During his stay in New York, the President will hold bilateral discussions with several heads of state and government representatives, and is also expected to meet with UN Secretary-General António Guterres.

Following his engagements in the United States, President Dissanayake will embark on a state visit to Japan on 26 September, at the official invitation of the Japanese government.

In Japan, he will attend the World Expo International Trade Fair on 27 September and hold high-level talks with senior Japanese leaders to further strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
