Sajith Premadasa Participates in Maharagama Sri Vipassyarama Annual Perahera

Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa joined the annual Perahera festival of the historic Maharagama Sri Vipassyarama Rajamaha Vihara, held under the guidance of the temple’s Chief Incumbent, Rajakeeya Panditha Ven. Mahakumbukwewa Chandhananda Thero.

Attending on the invitation of the Chief Incumbent, Premadasa took part in several religious observances and also joined the ceremonial placement of the revered “Sadathuka Karaduwa Mangala Hasthiraja” casket on the temple’s ceremonial elephant.

Addressing the large gathering of devotees and clergy present, Premadasa emphasized the cultural significance of the Perahera tradition. He further highlighted the importance of safeguarding the Buddha Sasana, protecting other religions, and fostering unity within the country.
