Public Consultation on Electricity Tariff Revisions Begins September 18

According to PUCSL Director of Communications Jayanaath Herath, the initiative aims to ensure that the views of the public are taken into account before any final decisions on tariff adjustments are made.
The first session of the consultation will take place in Trincomalee, with further sessions to follow in other districts. Stakeholders, consumer groups, and members of the public are encouraged to participate actively in the discussions.
In addition, the PUCSL will be accepting written proposals and comments on the proposed tariff increases until October 7, providing ample opportunity for individuals and organizations to submit their suggestions.
The Commission emphasized that public input is a vital part of the decision-making process, as electricity tariffs directly impact households, industries, and the broader economy.
