Wildfire Erupts in Nonpareil Reserve, Balangoda

According to reports, the fire has spread throughout the reserve, fueled by prevailing dry weather and strong winds in the area.

Residents joined forces and worked through the night to contain the blaze.

In recent days, several other reserves have also reported wildfires due to extreme dryness and high winds, resulting in the destruction of vast areas of land and the loss of numerous wildlife species.
