Indian arrested at BIA with Kush Cannabis worth Rs. 85 Million

Officers of the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) have arrested an Indian national at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), Katunayake, for attempting to smuggle a large stock of Kush cannabis.
Police said the 33-year-old suspect had arrived from Thailand and was preparing to board a flight to India when he was apprehended. Upon inspection, PNB officers recovered 8.542 kilograms of Kush cannabis concealed in his luggage.
The seized stock has an estimated street value of Rs. 85 million, according to police sources.
The suspect is currently in PNB custody and further investigations are underway to determine whether he is linked to an international drug trafficking network.
