Sri Lanka expresses solidarity with Qatar amid ongoing strikes

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Arun Hemachandra held a telephone conversation today (13) with Qatar’s State Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Sultan bin Saad bin Sultan Al Muraikhi.

During the discussion, Hemachandra conveyed Sri Lanka’s concerns regarding the recent developments and reaffirmed the solidarity of the Government and people of Sri Lanka with Qatar. He also commended Qatar’s constructive role in mediation efforts and humanitarian outreach at this critical juncture.

Both sides emphasized the importance of upholding sovereignty and territorial integrity, while underscoring the urgent need to safeguard peace and ensure humanitarian relief.
