
Colombo Robotics Meetup 2025 Held at NSBM Green University

The program aimed at introducing robotics, artificial intelligence (AI), and other emerging technologies to the agricultural sector, while also creating opportunities for small and medium-scale entrepreneurs to embrace such advancements. More than 200 participants, including entrepreneurs, students, and innovators, took part in the event.
Distinguished guests in attendance included Professor Thrishantha Nanayakkara, Director of Morph Lab at Imperial College London, Dr. Muditha D. Senarath Yapa, Director General of NIRDC, and Professor Chaminda Rathnayake, Deputy Vice Chancellor of NSBM Green University, along with representatives from academia, industry, and government sectors.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Muditha D. Senarath Yapa introduced the vision of NIRDC and emphasized the importance of new technologies in enhancing the efficiency of Sri Lanka’s agricultural sector. He further highlighted that strengthening research in these areas would accelerate the government’s vision of building a production-based economy.
A series of presentations on modern agricultural technologies was also a key highlight of the event.
