The newly appointed Inspector General of Police (IGP), Priyantha Weerasooriya, paid a courtesy call on Army Commander Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo at the Army Headquarters.

Upon arrival, IGP Weerasooriya was received by Major General Tiral De Silva, Adjutant General of the Sri Lanka Army, before inspecting a Guard of Honour parade.

The Army Commander then welcomed the IGP and introduced him to the Principal Staff Officers of the Army.

During discussions, both leaders reflected on the longstanding cooperation between the Army and Police in carrying out national responsibilities and joint tasks.

Concluding the cordial meeting, Lieutenant General Rodrigo extended his best wishes to the new IGP for success in his future duties.
