Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has appointed Tim Boon, the former Head Coach of Leicestershire County Cricket Club, as the High Performance Development Consultant for Women’s Cricket, marking a strategic move ahead of the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025.
Boon’s four-month engagement will see him work closely with the Sri Lanka National Women’s Team, focusing on technical refinement, tactical preparation, and performance optimization as they gear up for the global tournament starting 30th September 2025.

His consultancy will unfold in two phases: the first running from 30th August to 5th November 2025, and the second from 10th January to 9th March 2026. Following the World Cup, Boon will extend his expertise to the National U19 Girls Team, the Women’s ‘A’ Team, and the U19 Men’s Team, with an eye on the ICC U19 Men’s World Cup 2026.

Boon’s role includes designing and delivering high-performance training programs, conducting technical and tactical sessions, and evaluating individual and team performance metrics. His appointment is expected to bring a fresh layer of strategic depth to Sri Lanka’s developmental pipeline.

With a rich coaching résumé that includes stints with the England U19 Team and various developmental roles, Boon is no stranger to nurturing emerging talent. Earlier this year, he also collaborated with both the Sri Lanka National Women’s and Men’s squads, conducting specialized sessions aimed at enhancing batting technique and mental approach.
