The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) has filed indictments against Ramith Rambukwella, son of former Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, for failing to disclose assets worth more than Rs. 270 million, allegedly acquired through illegal means.
According to the indictment, the offences were committed between January 1, 2022, and November 14, 2023, during which time Rambukwella had allegedly acquired assets and properties valued at Rs. 296,566,444. He is accused of failing to declare assets worth Rs. 275,302,616 to the relevant authorities.
Rambukwella, who served as private secretary to the former minister, has been charged under the provisions of the Bribery Act.
