Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, who vacated his official residence on Wijerama Mawatha in Colombo today, was seen receiving a grand welcome upon his arrival at Carlton House in Tangalle.
A large crowd gathered to greet the former President, many expressing their joy at his return to his long-time residence.
Rajapaksa’s move comes following the enactment of the President’s Entitlements (Repeal) Act, which required him to vacate the official residence in Colombo.
