2.8 million metric tonnes of rice is produced in our country even though the country's annual consumption of rice is 2.4 million metric tonnes.
But rice is imported every year. This could be called a great tragedy. Many factors affected by this were shown in the parliament and joining the debate related to farming.
No matter how much government ministers shout that they are protecting the farmers, it should be made a reality on earth. Until then we stand for the protection of the entire agriculture, including the farmer.
