Capt. Daminda Rambukwella Assumes Duties as DG of Civil Aviation

Capt. Daminda Rambukwella officially assumed duties today (10) as the Director General of Civil Aviation and Chief Executive Officer of the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL).

A special ceremony was held to mark the occasion, attended by CAASL Chairman Sunil Jayarathna, Deputy Director General (Air Transport & Security Regulation) Rayhan Wanniappa, Deputy Director General (Aeronautical Services Regulation) M. A. K. Prasanna, and other senior officers of the Authority.

Prior to this appointment, Capt. Rambukwella served as the Deputy Director General (Flight Safety Regulation) and Acting Director of Aircraft Operations at CAASL, where he was recognized for his exemplary leadership, sound decision-making, and strong administrative skills.

He began his career at CAASL as a Flight Operations Inspector in Aircraft Flight Operations and has steadily risen through the ranks, contributing significantly to the strengthening of civil aviation regulation and safety oversight in Sri Lanka.
