Former Mayor of the Moratuwa Municipal Council, Samanlal Fernando, has been arrested by officers of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC).
According to reports, he was taken into custody on charges of causing financial losses to the government by allegedly awarding road development projects of the Moratuwa Municipal Council to his associates.
