In a record-breaking culinary achievement, renowned pastry chef Chamod Peiris unveiled the world’s longest Swiss roll at the Winstone Campus premises, capturing both local and international attention. In an exclusive conversation with ZiraDaily, Chef Chamodh shared his thoughts: “This record is not just about baking a Swiss roll; it’s about proving that Sri Lanka has the creativity, skill, and determination to achieve world-class recognition. My hope is that this inspires young chefs to dream big and never stop innovating.”

Sri Lanka has entered the global spotlight with a spectacular culinary achievement  the unveiling of the world’s longest Swiss roll. The event, held on September 2nd at the Winstone Campus premises, drew wide public attention and a distinguished gathering of industry leaders.

The Swiss roll, stretching 46 meters (150.919 feet) in length, was crafted under the guidance of Chef Chamodh Peiris, an accomplished pastry chef with 16 years of experience in the field. Creating this masterpiece required nearly 10 million rupees, marking it as both a creative and ambitious project

According to the Serendib World Records Institute, this Swiss roll has now been officially recognized as the longest in the world.

The event was honored by the presence of Deputy Minister of Tourism Prof. Ruwan Ranasinghe, legendary chefs Gerard Mendis and Dimuthu Kumarasinghe, along with leading representatives from the hospitality and tourism industries.
