The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) has said that it will seek public input on a proposed 6.8% electricity tariff increase submitted by the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) for the final quarter of 2025.
Members of the public are invited to submit their comments and suggestions in writing to the Commission by October 7, 2025. In addition to written submissions, the PUCSL will hold nine public consultation sessions across all provinces to gather oral feedback from consumers.
The series of public hearings will begin on September 18, 2025, and will focus on the CEB’s proposed tariff revision. The PUCSL emphasized the importance of public participation in the decision-making process and encouraged citizens to actively engage in the consultations.
