Former Fisheries Minister Rajitha Senaratne who was arrested and in the remanded custody, has been released on bail over allegations of misappropriating state funds through a sand mining project at the Kirinda Fisheries Harbour.
Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama granted him bail on a cash bail of Rs. 50,000 and three sureties of Rs. 2 million each. A travel ban was also imposed on the suspect.
