
Inauguration of Innovation Societies in 100 Government Schools

Speaking at the event, Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya emphasized that the government is fully committed to supporting the younger generation to become future innovators.
These Innovation Societies, launched under the leadership of the Ministry of Science and Technology with the contribution of the Sri Lanka Inventors Commission, will be established in 100 government schools selected from across the island.
At the ceremony held in Colombo, Prime Minister Dr. Amarasuriya presented plaques and certificates to the newly formed school innovation societies. Minister Krishantha Abeysekera was also present at the occasion.
The Prime Minister highlighted the importance of nurturing a generation that carries a social responsibility to think creatively and innovatively. She further stressed that Sri Lanka needs humanistic individuals who can contribute positively to the country’s future.
