Fire Breaks Out on Dimbulagala Mountain in Polonnaruwa

According to Polonnaruwa District Secretary Sujantha Ekanayake, the Fire Brigade, Sri Lanka Army, Air Force, and Manampitiya Police officers have been deployed to douse the flames.

Authorities say firefighting operations have been severely obstructed due to nighttime conditions and the presence of wild elephant habitats in the affected area.

The cause of the blaze remains unknown, and investigations are currently underway, police further stated.
